Olive Tree

HIGH-TECH AGRICULTURE

The future of extensive agriculture

The olive grove is one of the most deep-rooted crops in Spain and we have the largest cultivated area worldwide.

For the nutrient needs of the olive grove, it is very important to take into account that the calculation of fertilizer needs depends on several factors and that it is not effective until the plantation is established and the plant has vegetative maturity.

Even if we have all the necessary nutrients, if we have a single deficit, whether macronutrient or micronutrient, this will affect the crop yield. The boron needs of the olive tree are especially important.

For example, we can have a good nutrient content in the soil, but a disastrous organic matter content or pH, which conditions the plant's ability to extract nutrients. Soil fertilizers must be available in a way that the plant can use them without any problem.

It is also important to know the absorption rate of the olive tree throughout the different vegetative phases and this must be kept in mind when applying them to the crop.

The greatest nitrogen needs are in flowering and fruit set.

Potassium needs are more important from the hardening of the pit and the fattening of the olive.
